TV Time shut down on July 15, 2026
'Free' does not mean the same thing everywhere: uncapped, capped, or with ads. Here is what each gives without paying, verified on 15 August 2026 — and what each asks the day you want more.
Checked on August 15, 2026
| Criterion | les alternatives gratuites | WatchTrail |
|---|---|---|
| Serializd | Free, with no feature behind a paywall — but TV only | TV and film, free and ad-free |
| Trakt | Free with caps: 100 items per watchlist and collection, 2 lists | No cap on tracking, calendar, statistics or import |
| Simkl | Free core, with ads; VIP removes them | Ad-free, at every tier |
| JustWatch | Free, and it tracks episodes as well as saying where to watch | Ratings, reviews and extended universes on top of tracking |
| The Plex watchlist | Free, no server or subscription — the rest of Plex is paid | Nothing to install, and no paid ecosystem behind it |
If you only watch TV and nothing else matters, Serializd is the simplest and most honest choice of the lot. If you want to plug in a media centre, it is Trakt.
WatchTrail is free with no caps and no ads, TV **and** film in the same library, with extended universes and a complete TV Time import. What we do not have: Trakt's third-party ecosystem, nor the others' seniority.
There is one with each, written above: scope, cap, ads, or a paid ecosystem. Here, the core has neither caps nor ads.

Yes, and it is sensible: they are free, and a TV Time export imports into several of them.
Whatever tool you pick, check that it takes your TV Time export — and how. On WatchTrail, every show is matched by its ID, not by its title.
