Serializd vs TV Time: the Letterboxd of TV

Serializd is to television what Letterboxd is to film: a place where you rate, write and read reviews, season by season. If what you loved about TV Time was the community side and the urge to comment, it's the closest to that spirit.

What Serializd does better than us

  • The best experience for writing and reading TV show reviews
  • A lively community, with lists and discussions
  • A polished interface, pleasant, free, with no paid tier

Where Serializd falls short

  • No movies: you'll need a second tool for those
  • Release calendars and reminders aren't at the center of the app
  • Tracking is designed around seasons more than tick-by-episode

Serializd is the right pick if…

If you only watch TV shows and enjoy writing about what you see, Serializd is an excellent choice — and free, with no hidden catch.

So where does WatchTrail fit?

WatchTrail isn't trying to out-review Serializd. It targets people who want one place for shows AND movies, with the calendar, release alerts and country-aware 'where to watch'. If writing reviews is your main driver, take Serializd.

Frequently asked questions

Can you bring a Serializd history into WatchTrail?

No, and the reason is not ours: Serializd offers no export feature to date. There is no file to drop, and we cannot work around it — scraping a public profile would be brittle and would not recover the dates. It is worth weighing before investing years of history there: a service you cannot get your data out of is holding it. WatchTrail exports yours as CSV and JSON.

Does Serializd track movies?

No, the app is dedicated to TV shows. For movies you'll need another tool (Letterboxd, or an app that handles both).

Can you import your TV Time history?

Yes, Serializd offers imports from TV Time and Trakt. As everywhere, only the TV portion of your export will carry over.

The real criterion: your history

Whatever tool you pick, check that it takes your TV Time export — and how. On WatchTrail, every show is matched by its ID, not by its title.
