Put them in order

Put them in order tests your knowledge of a saga across five randomly drawn titles. Two modes change everything: release order, the one cinemas followed, and chronological order, the one the story follows. Almost nobody has both, because prequels and late-released spin-offs are often set very early in the internal timeline. The game draws directly on our extended universes, the feature that makes WatchTrail distinctive.

How to play

• Five titles from one saga, to be put back in order by tapping them one at a time.
• Two possible orders: chronological (the story) or release (the theatres). The verdict tells you how many titles landed in the right slot.
• Tap a placed title to take it back out.

Three ways to play better

1. Start with the two extremes — oldest and newest — then fill the middle: mistakes always cluster in the centre.
2. In chronological mode, spot the prequels: they're what invert the order your memory is used to.
3. A spin-off released late can be set very early in the story. That's the classic trap in the MCU and in Alien.

Where the data comes from

The playable sagas are our official extended universes, from the MCU to Halloween by way of Star Wars or Rocky. Every title was checked one by one against TMDB, with both of its orders: it is the same data that powers the site's checklists. Sagas with several continuities are offered branch by branch — ordering a remake against its original would have no right answer.
