The Wordle format has been adapted to just about everything: countries, films, songs, footballers. For TV shows we built ours — around one precise problem: how do you give clues that actually help, without ever spoiling the show for someone who hasn't seen it?
The rules in three lines
One mystery show a day, the same for everyone, six guesses. Every miss reveals a new clue — never of the same kind as the last.
- The first air year and the genres.
- The country, the network and the number of seasons.
- Two episode titles from season one.
- A character's name.
- The official synopsis, with the words of the title replaced by black blocks.
- Finally the poster, blurred.
The order isn't decorative: it runs from most abstract to most visual. Nailing it on guess one from "2005 · Drama · Mystery" is TV literacy; nailing it on guess six with the image in front of you is recognition. Scoring follows: 100 points on the first guess, then 60, 35, 20 and 10, and 5 on the sixth.
The redaction, and why it matters
The synopsis is the best possible clue — and the riskiest, because it almost always contains the title. So we mask every word of the title three letters or longer, in both languages, before showing the text. Short words stay: they give nothing away.
Where the show of the day comes from
The guessable shows, more than two hundred of them, are frozen in the code. That isn't laziness: TMDB rankings shift during the day, and a puzzle meant to be identical from morning to night can't depend on a moving list.

The game plays without signing up for anything. An account does exactly one thing: it keeps your win streak from day to day, including across devices, and places you on the Games leaderboard. The day's game itself is verified server-side before any score is recorded.
